Reception Rooms: 2 | Bedrooms: 5 | Bathrooms: 4
Magnificent brand-new land mark 5 bedroom house of exceptional contemporary architectural style offering extensive accommodation and stunning westerly sea views over Gwithian and Godrevy beaches, out in to St Ives Bay beyond with the iconic landmark of Godrevy lighthouse at its centre.
The magnificent architecture of the house is immediately apparent as the electronic gates slide back to reveal the striking and impressive glazed gable of the first floor. Driving through the gates and arriving within the grounds is like entering a tranquil yet stylish private oasis. The grounds extend to circa 1 acre in total but the sensation is they are of a larger proportion as the property has no near neighbours and so you are surrounded by beautiful open countryside and farmland, creating a much larger sensation of space around you. The large brick paved circular driveway provides parking and turning space for several cars and a granite pathway then leads to the entrance, providing an initial outlook across the gardens and the heated swimming pool along its route.
An impressive glazed entrance door welcomes you into a broad entrance hall with the backdrop of a full floor to ceiling glazed wall providing an outlook to the southerly grounds. Immediately adjacent and accessible to the entrance hall is the games / pool room, providing an outlook to the pool and beyond via its full height glazed sliding doors that retract to enable easy access too. There is a further set of sliding doors enabling the room to fully open to the gardens, creating an indoor/outdoor reception area for the pool.
The house is of reversed design to provide the principal rooms with the best of the sea views and so the remainder of the ground floor provides 3 of the 5 bedrooms and a secondary reception room. The largest ground floor bedroom suite has a wonderfully spacious feel and a large en suite bathroom and sliding glazed doors that open to the westerly gardens. There is also an immediately adjacent room that could easily facilitate a dressing room. Down the hallway there are two further double bedrooms overlooking the westerly garden and served by a good-sized family bathroom. There is a large room at the end ideal and so depending on someones requirements this could provide a more cosy second sitting room, a large study/office, playroom but there is also the option of it offering a sixth bedroom too.
The living accommodation and 2 of the bedrooms are all located on the first floor. A spacious first floor landing greets you with its high vaulted ceiling and large sliding doors that overlook and open out to the very large roof top sun terrace that sits on the area above the entrance hall and pool room. The roof terrace looks out over the larger area of gardens, the swimming pool and surrounding countryside, with an external staircase linking it to the pool area too. The first floor landing also gives access to bedroom 4, a double sized en suite room with large double aspect windows on the easterly and southerly sides. The magnificent open plan kitchen / dining area / living is the feature room of the house. This room has true wow factor with the magnificent views out into St Ives Bay of the light house drawing you out through the large floor to ceiling sliding glazed doors that open on the wide westerly facing outside balcony, where you can help but stop and gaze out to sea. The well equipped kitchen is very stylish in its finish and look and its large island is the hub of this very sociable space. The adjacent dining area provides space for a large table and it is separated from the sitting room by a large floor to ceiling central divider with a back to back fire being its feature. The triple aspect sitting room feature is the huge glazed gable, creating an incredibly bright and inviting space with the built in feature fire. Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate good-sized utility / larder room. The final en suite bedroom is located at the opposite end of the first floor, overlooking the westerly gardens.
The St Ives Bay area is renowned for its fabulous beaches as there are many to choose from whether it be for family days out or the more serious surfers. Lisadell is set just inland from the two neighbouring beaches of Godrevy and Gwithian, both being fine sandy beaches that are suitable for families and surfers alike. The beaches are renowned for their landmark lighthouse that sits just off the shore on an island outcrop of rock.
The coastal walks of the area are also some of the best in the county, offering fabulous views across the bay from the headlands and dunes, to St Ives in the distance. St Ives offers a fine selection of beaches and wonderful boutique shops, restaurants, bars and spas to unwind in. Within a 10 mile radius you can be sailing from Penzance marina, visiting the Tate Modern at St Ives, day tripping to the Isles of Scilly or golfing at the fabulous West Cornwall Golf Club at Lelant. Not far to the south is the harbour-side town of Falmouth which offers some of the best sailing waters in the UK.
There is a choice of railway stations on the Penzance to London Paddington line. Hayle and St Erth are respectively about 3 miles and 8 miles from the house. From the Hayle station you can also catch the local link to St Ives and experience one of the most iconic and picturesque train rides in the country.
The gardens surround the house and have been sculpted and terraced in to attractive areas and mostly planted with wild flowers and meadow grasses. The excellent swimming pool area is the focal point of the gardens and grounds, catching the easterly and southerly light. Adjacent to the pool is an outdoor shower and there is an adjacent changing room and plant room.
